Benefit Policy Manual (CMS Pub. 100-02, Ch.9 §40.1.8) 
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology services may be provided for purposes of symptom control or to enable the individual to maintain activities of daily living and basic functional skills. These services should be included in the plan of care, and would be paid for under the hospice per diem.
