Home health aide services to provide personal care services may only be provided by individuals who have successfully completed a home health aide training and competency evaluation program as required in 42 CFR 484.36. Aide services must be provided under the general supervision of a registered nurse, and include such services as:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Grooming
  • Other personal cares as assigned to promote the comfort and care of the beneficiary.

Aide services may include assistance in and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment, including changing the bed or light cleaning and laundering essential to the comfort and cleanliness of the beneficiary.
