Draft Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) in Comment

This page contains information on Draft LCDs in Comment for Cahaba GBA Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.

Contractors develop LCDs based on scientific evidence related to the topic of each policy. To ensure that all valid scientific evidence is considered prior to implementing an LCD, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires contractors to receive comments from affected providers and to conduct Draft LCD Open Meetings to receive comments from all interested parties. (See additional information about Draft LCD Open Meetings.) (To attend a Draft LCD Open Meeting you may register through the Calendar of Events.)

Draft LCDs are open for comment for a minimum of 45 days. The dates of the comment period are indicated in the Comment Period section below. The table below also lists the status of the draft LCD, how to submit comments, and the date of the Draft LCD Open Meeting.

Draft LCDs are viewable on the Medicare Coverage Database on the CMS website.
