Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy
Cahaba GBA LLC® has determined that Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy is an investigational procedure and is therefore not covered.
On January 1, 2007, the following CPT® codes were established:
- 22526: Percutaneous intradiscal electrothermal annuloplasty, unilateral or bilateral including fluoroscopic guidance; single level
- 22527: Percutaneous intradiscal electrothermal annuloplasty, unilateral or bilateral including fluoroscopic guidance; one or more additional levels
Cahaba GBA LLC® considers these procedures as investigational and will deny these services.
